Benefit festival set at Camp Placid

10:01 am | October 16, 2012

A benefit fall festival is planned for Camp Placid, 224 Camp Placid Road, Blountville, Saturday, Oct. 20, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This event will include handmade arts and crafts, craft demonstrations, kids activities, a silent auction, homemade ice cream, concessions, a fishing tournament and a cornhole tournament.

Camp Placid’s Camping Ministry gives campers the chance to meet other Christians and seek out God in ways that they may never have had a chance to do before.

Camp Placid is supported by Church of the Brethren congregations in Alabama, Tennessee, Virginia, South Carolina and North Carolina.

Many school groups use the camp for retreats and learning centers and many families enjoy the camp for their reunions and birthday parties.

Camp Placid has also been host to cross country meets, Heritage Days, concerts and much more. For more information about Camp Placid, email
