First United Methodist

“The Potter and the Clay” will be the theme of the sermon at Sunday morning worship on July 22 at Elizabethton First United Methodist Church. The scripture text is Jeremiah 18: 1-11. The service will begin at 10 a.m. followed by a brief fellowship time.

Sunday School for all ages begins at 11:20 a.m. The Men’s Prayer Group will meet at 9 a.m. in Room 108.

The Sunday evening Bible study on the book of Revelation will meet at 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall.

The Abiding Love Bible Study will meet at 10 a.m. on Tuesday in the fellowship hall.

Vacation Bible School, Stories for Jesus, for ages kindergarten through fifth grade will begin Sunday at 5:45 p.m. and continue until 8 p.m. A snack supper will be included.

East River Park

Minister Barry Pettit will begin a new sermon series on Sunday, July 22, at the East River Park Christian Church. The series subject is titled Kaleo. The message Sunday is titled “Called to Care.”The morning worship service will begin at 10:45 a.m. Sunday School classes for all ages begin at 9:45 a.m. The Men’s Class will meet in the Little Lambs Day Care Center.

All those involved with Harvest of Talents will meet at 5 p.m. on Sunday. The youth will play dodgeball at 6:30 p.m. at East Tennessee Christian Home Academy.

Wednesday services will begin at 7 p.m. with three Bible study classes scheduled for adults. There will also be classes for children nursery age through fifth grade. Youth will meet with their sponsors.

First Christian

Minister Brent Nidiffer will present the second sermon in the series “USEFUL” on Sunday at First Christian Church at the 9:45 a.m. worship service. The sermon series is based on the book of Philemon and this Sunday’s sermon is titled “Useful Connections.”

Morning prayer will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary. The 30 minutes of prayer time is spent in prayer and reflection on scripture.

Bible study for all ages will be held on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Hampton Deliverance Church of God

Hampton Deliverance Church of God, located at 401 First Ave., Hampton, will have a cookout fundraiser on Saturday, July 21, at 1 p.m. Tickets will be $60.

The public is invited to attend and enjoy the food, fun and fellowship along with gospel singing.


Bethlehem Lutheran

Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Johnson City, will feature the sermon “The Return” at morning worship services Sunday, July 22. The sermon text is Jeremiah 23: 1-6. Services will begin at 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Holy communion will be served at both services.

Sunday School and Bible study will be held at 9:15 a.m.

Interpreted services for the deaf are available on the second and fourth Sundays at the 10:45 a.m. service.

Hunter Memorial

Vacation Bible School will be held July 24-27 at the Hunter Memorial Baptist Church, located at 599 Highway 91.

The theme of the Bible school will be “A World Without God.” Classes will be held from 4 to 6 p.m.

Registration will be held on July 22 from 4 to 6 p.m.


Hampton First Baptist

Family Fun Week will be sponsored by Hampton First Baptist Church during the week of July 23-27 in the field behind the Hampton General Dollar. Activities will begin each evening at 7 o’clock.

Monday will be “Start Spreadin’ the News” night and will feature Greater Glory in concert and performances by the church’s God Rods Team. There will be games and ice cream sundaes for everyone.

Tuesday will be “More” Night with featured music by Art Gibson and the Servant’s Hands Puppet Ministry, as well as popcorn for everyone.

Wednesday is “Christmas In July” night and will feature Christmas crafts, a sing-a-long, snow cones and Christmas games.

Thursday is “All Star” Night. There will be music by Gospel Two, inflatables, games, bingo, and nachos and cheese.

Friday is “God And Country” Night, and special recognition will be given to all veterans present. The Browns Chapel Choir will sing and there will be a cookout with hotdogs.


True Gospel FWB

A gospel singing will be held Saturday, July 21, at 7 p.m. at the True Gospel Free Will Baptist Church, McAuther St., Johnson City.

Elizabethton Church of Christ

Vacation Bible School will be held at the Elizabethton Church of Christ July 23-27 with classes each evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The theme of the VBS is “All Aboard the Kingdom Express.”

There will be classes for all ages. Adult classes will begin at 7 p.m.
