Roan Mountain Lodge No. 566 F&AM will hold the four-lodge county practice at 7 p.m. A meal will be served at 6 p.m. and the practice will follow. All members of these lodges are urged to attend.

The Carter County Democratic Women will meet at Democratic Headquarters, 441 E. Elk Ave., Elizabethton, beside the Veterans Wall of Honor. The group will meet early at 5 p.m. for a business meeting. Those wishing to carpool to the Candidate’s Forum at East Tennessee State University will leave at 6:30 to arrive by 7 p.m. All Democrats are invited to the meeting and to hear the candidates.

The Al-Anon “Free To Be Me” Family Group will meet at 6 p.m. at the Watauga Baptist Association Building, 3871 Highway 19E, Elizabethton.

The Green Pastures Group of Alcoholics Anonymous will meet at 8 p.m. in the Conference Room at Crossroads, 413 E. Elk Ave., Elizabethton.

 

WednesdaySept. 26

A benefit dinner will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Elizabethton. A $6 donation per dinner will help raise funds to purchase a state historical marker to honor the baseball team, the Elizabethton Blue Grays. The menu will include roast beef, potatoes and gravy, green beans, corn, rolls, dessert and tea. Carryout will be available. For more information, call 470-1743 or 707-1416.

 

ThursdaySept. 27

The Buladeen Citizens Center Club, 2819 Highway 91, Stoney Creek, will meet at 7 p.m. September is Membership Renewal month and also the election of new officers. All members are urged to attend. A Country Breakfast will be held at Dashiell Lodge in Elizabethton from 7 to 10 a.m. Price for adults is $5, and $3 for children 12 and under. Carryouts will be available

Shayne will perform from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at Buffalo Ruritan Club in Bluff City. Admission is $5.

Alcoholics Anonymous 12-Step Closed Meeting will be held at 2 p.m. at Crossroads, 413 E. Elk Ave., Elizabethton.

Narcotics Anonymous “Just For Today” group will meet at the Crossroads Building at 12:15 p.m. Enter through the entrance at the rear of the building.

MondayOct. 1

The Elizabethton Choral Club will rehearse at 7 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church in Elizabethton. Under the Direction of Debbie Gouge, the group performs a wide variety of choral music two to three times per season. For more information, call President Bill Fancher at 213-5070.
