About 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, the body of 28-year-old Vonda Berry Marshall Donaldson was discovered in the depths of Watauga Lake, just below the pilings of the Butler Memorial Bridge.

Donaldson’s family had reported the woman missing on Sunday.

Johnson City Police Department Capt. Mike Street said Donaldson’s family last heard from her on Saturday at 11:20 p.m. Donaldson had gone to a wedding and then went to her Antioch Road apartment, where she was last known to be, Street said.

On Monday morning, the JCPD located Donaldson’s boyfriend, Steven Bennett, in the woman’s car at a Johnson City mobile home park. Bennett, who has not been charged in Donaldson’s disappearance, was arrested on a parole violation.
