Val Nave

Val Nave, 75, Butler, passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, in the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center, after a brief illness.

A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Golden and Mary Potter Nave. He was a self-employed contractor. Mr. Nave served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was of the Christian faith. He was a loving father, grandfather and businessman. He was a member of Hampton Masonic Lodge # 750, A Shriner, the Elizabethton Elks Lodge, the Elizabethton Moose Lodge and V.F.W. Post 2166. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Richard Nave.

Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Nave, Hampton; a son, Mitchell Nave, Butler; a granddaughter, Brandy Nave, Butler; a grandson, Brandon Parlier, Elk Park, N.C.; three sisters, Norma Sue Nave and Joan Elliott both of Elizabethton and Dianna Cato, Anderson, S.C.; three brothers, Phillip Nave and wife Judy, Carl Nave and wife Patricia, both of Elizabethton, and Michael Nave and wife Mary Lou, Butler; a special niece and nephew, Karon Campbell and Edward Elliott and several other nieces and nephews.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Street, Greenville, SC 29605. Condolences may be e-mailed to mfc@chartertn.net.
