Valley Forge crash kills two children

Two children died after a Thursday crash on U.S. Highway 19E in the Valley Forge community.

Carter County Sheriff Chris Mathes confirmed the deaths of the two children, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol reported 2-year-old Dalton Moffitt of Elizabethton died at the scene and 7-year-old Jonathan Nye of Elizabethton died at the hospital.
The wreck was reported at 7:43 p.m. on 19E at Avon Avenue, a short distance from Stateline Road.
