Shawna Leigh Pilkton and Johnny Ray Lovelace II were united in marriage during an outdoor ceremony at Agota Springs in Kingsport on Saturday, August 20, 2011, at 6 p.m. Rev. Tony Birchfield officiated the double-ring exchange of vows.
The bride is the daughter of Sharon Pilkton of Johnson City and Dean and Carolyn Pilkton of Elizabethton. She is the granddaughter of Ruthie Saylor of Johnson City and the late Joe Saylor, and the late Grace and Lettie Pilkton.
The groom is the son of Regenia “Cookie” Lovelace and Johnny Ray Lovelace, both of Elizabethton. He is the grandson of the late Edith and Haskel Smith and the late Effie and John Lovelace.
A program of classical music was provided by Sophisticated Strings.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a strapless, lace mermaid silhouette gown in ivory with a sweetheart neckline and intricate beading throughout.
She carried a bouquet of white cabbage roses and white hydrangea.
Apryl Potter, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She was attired in a black tea-length dress.
Cheyenne Potter served as bridesmaid with Lauren Pilkton as junior bridesmaid. Each was attired in a black tea-length dress.
Flower girls were Katlyn and Lily Smith.
Hunter Smith was ring bearer.
Richard Lovelace, brother of the groom, was best man.
Groomsmen were Justin Buckles and Dakota Potter.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at Agota Springs.
After a cruise to the Caribbean (Cozumel, Belize, Isla Roatan and Grand Cayman), the couple are residing at 103 Mayfield Drive, Unit 3, Elizabethton.
