Elizabethton Police have arrested a woman they say falsely claimed an officer assaulted her during a traffic stop and stalked  her.
Tiffany D. Scalf, 23, 308 Johnson Ave., Elizabethton, was taken into custody Friday on a charge of filing a false report.
On Thursday, Oct. 11, Scalf had told police she had been assaulted by an EPD officer, according to a report filed by Capt. Joy Markland. Scalf told police a male officer stopped her vehicle in an Elizabethton parking lot.
Scalf said the officer, who was in “plain clothes,” ordered the woman to exit her vehicle, at which time he pushed her against her vehicle, according to Markland.
Police said the accused officer had actually not been working and was out of town. Video surveillance of the parking lot was viewed and Markland said there was no traffic stop seen.
